Delivering a Campus Data Service with Globus and ESnet
This webinar focused on data transfers for the life sciences. Talks were given by Jason Zurawski from ESnet, Steve Tuecke from Globus Online, David Lifka from the Cornell University Center for Advanced Computing, and Brock Palen from the University of Michigan.
This webinar is part of a series of webinars that ESnet and Globus Online will be hosting from 2013--2014. To recieve emails about this series, and other opportunities to learn about networking and science, subscribe to the ESnet fasterdata events list:
Summary of the Webinar:
This is the second in a series of webinars presented by ESnet and Globus Online. We invite HPC administrators working at colleges and universities to join us for a webinar tackling the problems and solutions to managing big data in academic settings. We will describe how research computing administrators can deliver a campus data service that provides their users with flexible and easy-to-use data management capabilities. Globus makes it easy to move, sync, and share big data using just a web browser, underpinned by ESnet’s reliable, high-speed network infrastructure, as well its tools for vastly improving network performance for research. Join us to learn how peers at Cornell and the University of Michigan use these advanced services to enhance their users abilities' to move and share data on campus with collaborators around the world.
