The three ASCR-funded supercomputer centers are building servers devoted to
wide area data transfers. These servers are high-performance, dedicated hosts that
are configured as gateways between the high-performance local storage at the supercomputer
center and remote resources. Their principal role will be to enable high-performance data
transfers between the ASCR-funded supercomputer centers.
