Overview of the Bro Intrusion Detection System
This webinar was presented on May 8th 2015, in collaboration with the Great Plains Network, Network Nebraska, OneNet, KanREN, MOREnet and the South Dakota Board of Regents for the ENCITE (ENhancing CyberInfrastructure by Training and Education) project. Nick Buraglio from ESnet was the presenter for this webinar.
The ENCITE program is funded by NSF Grant number 1440774, and aims to improve knowledge, expertise and research cyberinfrastructure at campuses in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and South Dakota.

Summary of the Webinar
Bro is a powerful network analysis framework that combines many features into a single platform for securing a network. This talk will give a basic overview of Bro, how it can be used in a campus environment, and conclude with a case study on security to protect a research component - the Science DMZ enclave of a campus.
